In the mid ages, the earth was thought that it was the center of the milky way. The person who popped up with that idea was Ptolemy. He called it the Ptolemy Universe. Then, a few years later, in 1543, Nicolaus Copernicus had the idea that the planets circled the sun. Then Johannes Kepler made a mechanical model of the Solar System. Then a few years later after that, Edwin Hubble created the Hubble Space Telescope to look farther into space!
