Alvin flew over the lake to look for fish to eat with a lot of other birds. It was just like any normal day at the big lake. The kingfishers plunged into the water and came out with beaks full of small fish. The wild turkeys were flying around looking for good oak trees to perch on. Then, there was a rustle in the bushes. The birds froze. Three men with big sticks came out. No. Not sticks. Guns. They were hunters. Then a hunter suddenly shot his gun at a wild turkey. Before the bullet even hit anything the birds flapped as quickly as they could away from the hunters. The hunter shot and followed the birds. Then a hunter fixed his eyes on Alvin. Alvin had enough of those guys. Instead of flying faster away, Alvin turned around and screeched at them. Alvin used his claws to drag away a hunter's gun. Then he flew high and threw the gun into a tall tree, next to a buzzy beehive. Then he stated repeating the step with the other two hunters. But now he lost the birds! How will he find the birds? Stay tuned for Chapter 14!
