About Bravoy (My Crowntail Bettafish)
on Wednesday, July 27, 2011

My pet crowntail bettafish, Bravoy, is in front of me. My best friend is in front of me. Yes, Bravoy is my best friend. One of the reasons? I get to study his behavior and teach him some simple things.

Now, I know teaching a fish seems strange, but I taught him a game. It's game I call "Follow the Finger" (Bravoy just follows my finger). I also taught him to come to me whenever I'm near him. I Just think I taught him too well to do that. It's like this: I go up to Bravoy. He comes to me.  I scare him away with my hand. Then he smims back to me. See what I mean? I also taught him to stay still. Do you know how people hold up their hand which means to stop? That's what I do.

One of the things I've studied about him is that I think he uses his crown tail to say "Hey, I'm stronger than you so back off!" to his rivals. I also think that male bettafish fight to be able to mate with the females. I think the loser of the fight would back off, but the winner would just go and mate with the female. Mabye the males also use their crown tail in fights. Even know how to say "come" in fish language. That's about it!
