The Wolf
on Sunday, August 07, 2011

Wolves are cousins of the domestic dog. They are carnivores, which means they only eat meat. The amount of meat that is hunted depends on the number of wolfs in each pack. If the pack is smaller, the wolfs would just hunt a young moose or a deer. If the pack is larger, they will hunt a full grown moose or a buffalo. The leaders of the pack are called the Alfa Pair. They are the most important members in the wolf pack. The female alfa wolf is the only female that gives birth to pups. The pups feed on milk for 25 days.  Then they begin feeding on solid meat.
